About BetKika

BetKika is a sports betting and live sports platform built for Africa, covering football and eleven other sports with odds we price ourselves, live scores that arrive as the match is played, and deposits and withdrawals in FCFA through mobile money.

What BetKika is

BetKika is an online sportsbook. You open an account, you fund it with MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money, and you place bets on football and eleven other sports in Central African CFA francs. Alongside the sportsbook there is a small suite of instant games and a live section where you can follow scores, line-ups, statistics and the run of play without leaving the page you bet on.

The platform is built for people betting from Africa, and that shapes decisions most sportsbooks make differently. Money is held and settled in FCFA rather than converted into dollars and back again. The deposit page shows the two mobile money networks people in Cameroon actually use instead of a wall of card logos. Pages are built to load on a phone over a mobile connection, because that is how nearly everyone reaches us.

We are not a betting affiliate, a tipster service or a scores aggregator that sends you somewhere else to bet. Everything described on this page happens on BetKika: the prices, the bet slip, the settlement and the payout.

Where our odds come from

Most sportsbooks buy a price feed and add a margin. We do buy nothing, and it is worth explaining exactly what we do instead, because the honest version is more useful to you than a slogan about advanced technology.

For roughly a third of the fixtures we cover, a published market price already exists in the public data we read. Where it does, we take that price, strip out the bookmaker margin baked into it, and reapply our own. Our margin is a single configured number rather than a figure that moves quietly from match to match, which means the price you see is derived from a real market rather than invented.

For every other fixture there is no published price, and we price it ourselves. A Poisson model reads the real goals scored and conceded by both teams in the competition they are actually playing in, along with how many games they have played, and turns that into a probability for every scoreline. Early in a season, when a handful of matches would otherwise produce absurd numbers, the model is pulled toward the competition average until enough football has been played to trust the teams' own records.

When there is no published price and not enough played football to model one either, the fixture is listed without odds. We would rather show you a match you cannot bet on yet than a coin-flip number dressed up as a considered price.

Our traders can override any individual price by hand, and when they do, that override sticks: a later data sync will not quietly overwrite a human decision.

Where our scores and fixtures come from

Fixtures, kick-off times, live scores, match statistics, line-ups, competition tables and club crests come from public sports data feeds, refreshed continuously while matches are being played. Nothing on the live pages is simulated, and no score on this site is generated by a model.

Live pages are pushed rather than polled. When something happens in a match, the update is broadcast to every browser watching it over a websocket, with a streaming fallback for connections where a socket cannot be held open. In practice the ceiling on how fresh a score is comes from how often we can read the source, not from how quickly we can get it to your screen.

Where a fixture carries no data mapping, the match page shows the odds and nothing else. It does not invent a line-up or a statistic to fill the space.

The sports and competitions we cover

Football is the centre of the platform and the deepest part of it: the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, the CAF competitions and the Africa Cup of Nations, plus domestic divisions across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. In total the football catalogue runs to hundreds of competitions rather than a headline dozen.

Beyond football we cover basketball, tennis, American football, ice hockey, baseball, rugby, volleyball, boxing and mixed martial arts, Australian rules and water polo. Each sport carries the markets that make sense for it rather than a football template with the words changed.

Coverage is not a fixed list. Competitions are added when a reliable source for their fixtures and results exists, and a competition we cannot cover accurately is one we would rather not list at all.

How money works on BetKika

The account ledger is denominated in Central African CFA francs. Balances, stakes, returns and limits are all shown in FCFA, and amounts are held internally as whole units because FCFA has no subdivision in practice.

Deposits and withdrawals run through mobile money. In Cameroon that means MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money: you enter an amount, your own phone prompts you for your mobile money PIN, and the balance moves once the operator confirms it. There is no step where you send money somewhere and then type a transaction reference into a form and hope.

Every movement of money writes an immutable ledger entry recording what happened, how much, and what caused it. Balance changes happen inside database transactions with the account row locked, so two things happening at once cannot leave a balance in a state that never existed. Payment callbacks carry idempotency keys, which is what stops a network retry from crediting the same deposit twice.

We do not publish payout timescales we cannot keep. Withdrawal requests are reviewed and paid out to the mobile money number on the account; the current processing window is shown on the withdrawal page itself rather than promised here.

Who can open an account

You must be at least 21 years old to hold a BetKika account. Cameroon's own legal minimum for gambling is 18, and we set ours higher deliberately. The registration form asks for your date of birth and refuses the account if it does not clear 21, and the same check runs again on the server rather than only in the browser.

One person may hold one account. Accounts are personal and cannot be transferred, sold or operated on someone else's behalf. Identity verification may be required before a withdrawal is paid, and the documents we ask for are the ones needed to confirm you are who the account says you are.

We do not market to anyone under the legal age, and we do not accept an account we believe belongs to a minor. If you believe someone under 21 is using an account here, tell us and we will close it and return the balance.

Betting responsibly

Betting is entertainment that costs money, and the platform is designed to keep saying so rather than to hide it. Nothing on BetKika describes a bet as a guaranteed win, a sure thing or a way to make an income, and no page tells you to bet more than you planned.

If betting stops being enjoyable, or you find yourself chasing losses, staking money you need for something else, or hiding what you spend, the responsible gambling page explains what is available to you and how to stop. Asking to close an account is always honoured, and it does not require a reason.

What we write and how

Alongside the sportsbook we publish guides and match coverage. Every factual claim in them is traced to a source before it is published, prices quoted in an article carry the time they were read, and predictions are stated as opinions with the reasoning shown rather than as promises.

Photographs of teams and players are real, openly licensed images credited to the photographers their licences name. We do not generate pictures of real people, and we do not place a player or a club in a layout that suggests they endorse betting.

Security and your data

Passwords are stored hashed and never in a form anyone here can read. Sensitive actions are rate limited, state-changing requests carry cross-site request forgery protection, and administrative functions sit behind role checks rather than an unlisted address.

We collect the information needed to run an account and meet the obligations that come with handling money, and no more than that. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected, why, how long it is kept and what you can ask us to do with it.

Reaching us

The contact form on this site opens a support ticket, which is the channel that reaches a person fastest and gives you a reference you can follow up on. Signed-in customers can see every ticket they have opened and reply to it from their account.

BetKika does not hold a gambling licence it can cite, and you will not find a licence number claimed anywhere on this site. We would rather say that plainly than imply an authorisation we do not have.
