Responsible gambling

Betting is entertainment that costs money. Most people spend a little and enjoy it; some do not, and for them the cost is not only financial. This page explains how to keep it in proportion, how to stop, and how to ask us for help.

The one thing worth knowing first

Over time, the odds favour the house. That is not a scandal and it is not hidden: it is how a sportsbook exists at all. Every price on this site contains a margin, and that margin is our income.

What follows from that is simple and worth being blunt about. Betting is not a way to earn money, pay a bill, recover a loss or build an income. Anyone who tells you they have a system that beats it reliably is selling you something. We will never tell you that, and nothing on BetKika will describe a bet as a sure thing, a guaranteed win or free money.

Signs it has stopped being entertainment

You bet more than you planned, or more often than you planned, and the amount keeps climbing to feel the same.

You bet to win back what you lost. Chasing losses is the single most reliable sign that betting has turned into a problem, and it is the point at which most people lose the most.

You bet with money meant for rent, food, school fees, transport or someone else.

You hide how much you bet from your family, or lie about it.

You feel anxious, irritable or low when you are not betting, or you think about it when you should be thinking about something else.

Betting is affecting your sleep, your work, your studies or your relationships.

If you recognise more than one of these, treat it seriously now rather than after the next bet.

Practical things that work

Decide what you will spend before you open the site, and treat it the way you treat the cost of a night out: money you have already accepted losing.

Never deposit to chase a loss. If you have lost and you want to deposit again immediately, that is exactly the moment to close the page.

Set a time limit as well as a money limit. Long sessions are where planned amounts stop being planned.

Do not bet when you are drunk, upset, or under pressure about money. Judgement is the first thing that goes.

Do not borrow to bet, and do not bet on credit of any kind.

Keep it separate from the things that matter. If a bet is making a match less enjoyable rather than more, that is information.

Taking a break or closing your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. Any withdrawable balance is paid out to you.

If you want to stop for a while rather than permanently, ask for a break and tell us how long. We will close access for that period rather than talking you out of it.

If you ask us to close your account because of gambling harm, say so in the request. We will not send you marketing afterwards, and we will not invite you back with an offer.

Requests go through the contact form, which opens a support ticket with a reference. A request to stop is never treated as a retention opportunity.

Protecting people who are not you

You must be 21 to hold an account here, which is higher than the legal minimum of 18 in Cameroon. If a person under that age has access to your device, lock it and keep your password to yourself.

Software such as Gamban, GamBlock and BetBlocker can block gambling sites across a device. BetBlocker is free. Parental controls on a phone or router can do part of the same job.

If you believe someone underage is using an account here, tell us and we will close it and return the balance. We would rather lose the account than keep it.

Getting help

Talking to someone helps more than most people expect, and the first conversation is the hard one.

Gamblers Anonymous runs free peer support groups internationally and lists meetings and online options on its own site. GamCare and Gambling Therapy provide free, confidential online support and live chat that is open to people outside their own countries.

If you are in Cameroon, a doctor or a mental health professional can help, and so can talking honestly to someone you trust. Debt is a practical problem with practical help available; treat it as one rather than as a secret.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or someone close to you right now. Gambling debt is recoverable. Please do not treat it as something that is not.

What we do on our side

We enforce the minimum age at registration and again on our servers, and we ask for identity verification before paying withdrawals.

Marketing consent is off by default. The box is unticked when you register, and you can withdraw it at any time without it affecting your account.

We do not send betting promotions to anyone who has told us they have a gambling problem or asked to be excluded.

No page on this platform urges you to bet more, describes any bet as guaranteed, or presents betting as a solution to money trouble. If you ever find one that does, report it and we will take it down.
